Innovative all-around solution for farmers and contractors

Vilshofen on the Danube: With two path-breaking innovations Paul Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH has now considerably expanded the fields of application of its Agro Mover vehicles. For the first time the Lower Bavarian specialist for chassis conversions has developed a powerful pair consisting of a mechanical rear power take-off (PTO) and a hydraulic rear power lift. This enhances the range of applications of the Agro Mover in agriculture and forestry as well as in additional municipal fields of application by manufacturer-independent operation of heavy rear-mounted attachments. In combination with load-sensing hydraulics and an ISOBUS operating panel this allows for the simultaneous operation of up to five different attachments and truck-mounted implements. This places the Agro Mover in the vicinity of the high competence in implement operation which up to now was exclusively the field of tractors and other agricultural towing vehicles and working machines. The debut vehicle is based upon a Mercedes-Benz Arocs 2051 AK 4×4 and will be displayed at the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2016.

Furthermore the high transport capacities of the powerful and high payload Agro Mover can still be provided with unrestricted freeway-suited road speed: for agricultural use in combination with a hitch ball coupling, for large-volume crop transports and material transports with a fifth wheel coupling – and optionally using both as well. Registration of the Agro Mover will be done without constraints as a vehicle for use in agriculture or forestry (agricultural or forestry tractor: tractor towing unit for agriculture and forestry or agricultural tractor).

New rear power take-off allows for driving of power-intensive rear-mounted implements

The new mechanical rear power take-off allows a great number of additional applications in all European climate zones. The great advantage of this mechanical solution is its 1:1 power transmission from the engine to the power take-off (max. 375 kW). Depending on the respective engine output the take-off torque amounts up to a maximum of 3,405 Nm. The PTO speed is displayed on the ISOBUS terminal in the driver’s cab. At an engine speed of approximately 1,350 rpm the PTO speed is at 1,000 rpm. Even during fluctuating engine speeds the power output is being kept at a constant level. At engine speeds below 800 rpm the power shift power take-off can be engaged and disengaged under load during driving. The power take-off is installed in the middle of the vehicle’s rear end in the „three-point standard position“. Thereby each attached implement can be operated at once and without time- consuming delay. Obviously, drive shaft protection is part of the standard equipment.

Equipment with the new rear power take-off not only allows for the operation of self- loading forage wagons or silage trailers with and without push-off devices. It also enhances the range of applications in agriculture to applications with water tanks, field sprayers, fodder mixers or slurry tanks. In forestry woodchippers can be operated without any problems. In the municipal sector there are further fields of application in combination with the most different implements such as mowing, mulching, milling and winter services machinery attached at the vehicle’s rear end.

New rear power lift enhances range of application on the grassland and in the field

Paul Nutzfahrzeuge, using proven Claas components, has developed a hydraulic three-point rear power lift which is perfectly adapted to the complete vehicle. This allows for hitching up and moving the most diverse attachments fitted at the rear of the Agro Mover. Even without ballast the new rear power lift develops a remarkable lifting power of up to 4.5 t. In addition Paul Nutzfahrzeuge supplies a front weight of 1,500 kg in total which consists of four modular parts. With this ballast the new rear power lift lifts up to 7 t which is more than sufficient for operating heavy rear- mounted attachments.

The new rear power lift enables applications with disc harrow or toothed harrow as well as cultivator and even heavy-duty subsoiler applications. In combination with the new rear power take-off, the high-performance load-sensing hydraulic system with nine hydraulic connections fitted at the rear of the vehicle and the ISOBUS terminal the Agro Mover equipped with rear power lift provides lots of further efficiency-enhancing usage prospects with seedbed combinations, seed drills, sowing machines, fertilizer spreaders, rotary mowers, flail mowers and a large number of various other devices.

All-season dual-use option with maximum availability: the Agro Mover combines work efficiency with transport efficiency and increases profitability

Efficient implement operation and fast transports: Paul Nutzfahrzeuge has customized the Agro Mover especially to the high standards in agriculture and forestry which are demanded from farmers and contractors by modern agricultural logistics. Versatile and flexible fields of application are the cornerstones to gain a maximum operational effectiveness and all-season usability of the vehicles, implements and machines.

Exactly at this point the Agro Mover concept is an outstanding solution for combined implement and transport application by a high-performance all-wheel drive vehicle which combines the high working efficiency of a tractor with the high load carrying capacity of a truck. This saves time and money since reloading at the field edge is no longer necessary but additionally facilitates all-season applications with changing implements: in spring during soil cultivation and sowing, in summer during mowing applications, in autumn during the harvest, and during the cold months the Agro Mover can be used with snowplough and spreader in municipal winter service applications. In parallel transport operations are possible thanks to the vehicle’s high payload and its top speed of up to 80 km/h even with large-volume trailers and self- loading forage wagons. Thus, downtimes are reduced to an absolute minimum and are restricted to necessary workshop stops for service and maintenance work. To carry out these works the international service and maintenance network of Paul Nutzfahrzeuge is available which ensures short-term appointments and a prompt spare parts supply.
